The Retired Seniors Volunteer Program, Colorado West. Inc., recognized and thanked Delta County volunteers for their dedication and accomplishments in the community. The event was held at the Delta Senior Center on Friday, July 19.
Executive director Sherry Faith welcomed volunteers and guests and told of some of the accomplishments of RSVP in Delta County over the past year. A total of 267 volunteers served 23,862 hours in 14 locations. At $15 an hour, the estimated value is $357,930.
Volunteers provide services in a number of areas and to people of all ages including the homebound. They serve diverse groups in both the public and non-profit agencies.
Speakers included Delta Mayor Pro Tem Mary Cooper, Medicare counselor Gloria Hudson, VOA community meals coordinator Deana Sheriff, Delta Senior Resources coordinator Leah Lewis, and Region 10-AAA coordinator Eva Veitch.
Dick Simms, Scott Kolb and "Sky" Fairlamb provided musical entertainment playing and singing familiar tunes. Refreshments were served. A silent auction was held and door prizes were given.

Five years — Donna Ames, Dona Baptist, Kay Callahan, Ruth Carson, Beverly Clemmer, Dona Lee Cockroft, Thomas Conlon, Larry Davidson, Anna Jane Deubler, Dorothy Elder, Jean Holgate, Eleanor Ladson, Karen Martin, Doris Myers, Jim Nierenberger, Eulah Norris, Allen Sherman, Ann Troxel, Donna Vair, and Helen Wade.
Ten years — Marylyn Anderson, Kathy Grosser, Pauline Krieger, Twila Low, John Miley, Pauline Nicholas and Zelphia May Roberts.
Fifteen years — Vivian Cheney, Marilyn Elenberger, Emily Gallegos, Garland Lowrance, Joan Queen, Glenna Sieracki, Bill Stoddart, Pricilla Stoddart and Donna Waibel.
Twenty years — Marge Cockroft, Mary Gallegos and Marge Quick-Davis.
Twenty-five years — Lorena Hudgens, Grace Farmer, Betty Wilkening, Elaine Burns and Shirley Ochs.
June Balster, Isal Sheilds, Josefa Gottula, Angie Helmericks, and Freida Goings were recognized for over 5,000 hours of service to RSVP. Lola Page has donated over 10,000 hours.
