Eleven Delta County employees with a combined 190 years of service to local government were recognized by the Board of County Commissioners last week.
The employees are:
Brian Ayers, veterans affairs officer, 10 years of service; Rob Fiedler, county emergency manager, 10 years; Caroline Gilliand, administrative assistant North Fork Annex, 10 years; Doug Williams, information network administrator, 10 years; Sandy Cross, administrative accountant, 15 years; Connie Shuss, clerk's office accountant, 15 years; Darlene Watson, road and bridge department administrative assistant, 15 years; Leone Anderson, health and human services department accountant, 20 years; Deborah Sanders, assessor's department clerk, 20 years; Richard Mewhinney, assistant foreman road and bridge department, 30 years; and, Richard Boushley, assistant road and bridge foreman Dist. 3, 35 years.
"We extend a heartfelt big thank you," said Commissioner Doug Atchley. "There are a lot of years and a lot of experience represented here."
Commissioner Bruce Hovde said, "We thank you all for your years of service."
Commissioner Mark Roeber told the group assembled in the commissioners' meeting room, "Thank you for your dedicated service. You are the ones who really make county government work."
