The joint collection efforts of the Colorado Aviation Business Association (CABA) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) will culminate this weekend. In partnership with the Metro State College Aviation Department, aircraft filled with food and toys to be distributed to homeless veterans throughout Colorado will take to the air Sunday, Dec. 8, weather allowing.
CABA collection and sponsorship will be linked to the VFW collection and distribution to needy veterans for the third year, helping to make the holiday airlift a statewide success story for veterans' assistance.
This year Lee Marts VFW Post 3571 in Delta has teamed with CABA not only to distribute to needy veterans, but to involve the Delta community in the collection effort by establishing a collection site at the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce. Donations of non-perishable food or toys are gratefully accepted.
