The City of Delta recently put out a request for proposals from auditors interested in conducting an independent audit of city financial records, as required by law. The request resulted in just one proposal, from Holscher, Mayberry & Company of Englewood.
Auditing services are bid for a three-year period. The city's last contract, for the years 2010, 2011 and 2012, was awarded to Johnson, Holscher & Company. One of the principals in that firm is now affiliated with Holscher, Mayberry & Company.
The firm's bid of $23,200 for 2013, $23,925 for 2014 and $24,650 for 2015 was unanimously approved by city council.
Next time, city manager Justin Clifton said the city will be more aggressive in its approach, in an attempt to seek a broader range of bids.blog comments powered by Disqus
