Six treadmills that have been used since the opening of Bill Heddles Recreation Center in 1993 are being replaced as part of an effort to update equipment annually.
"Those investments have been well-guarded," said city manager Justin Clifton, after several councilmembers commented on the heavy use of fitness equipment at the recreation center.
Three companies responded to the bid request, with the low bid of $28,200 coming from Advanced Exercise Equipment of Littleton. The treadmills have sound receivers and come with a three-year warranty.
A total of $30,000 has been budgeted for fitness equipment in the 2014 budget.
The older treadmills, which have had quarterly maintenance, will be offered for sale to the highest bidder.blog comments powered by Disqus
