Soup supper raises $640 for Pioneer Town

c02 supperPhoto by Verna Barr Jane Everett, chairman of the event (left), Betty Kendrick, and Karen Wagner were soup servers at the Soup Supper for Pioneer Town.Soup has been served and everyone attending the annual Soup Supper had plenty of soups from which to choose. The event raised about $640 for the Surface Creek Valley Historical Society to be used to help with utilities and maintenance of Pioneer Town.

Chairman Betty Kendrick was enthusiastic with the turnout, especially since the event date had been changed from fall to late winter. She was more than pleased with the many volunteers, cooks, bakers, servers, cashiers, dish washers, those who set up before, those who cleaned up after and all others who stepped forward to help.

Those who prepared soups and stews were Les and Dorothy Jean Mergelman, Jane Everett, Sarajane McCully, Charlotte Shive, S.Ann Schwietert, Rhonda Gold, Karen Wagner, Gerry Murano, Marcy Peterson, Judi MacKendrick, Tricia Shriver and Lynn Grotrian. A special thanks to Polly Jo Wick for the loaves of homemade bread.
