A scholarship fund raiser was held last week by members of the ESA sorority, from left, Kay Westlake, Rhonda Gold, SaraJane McCully, Mary Kinzer, Barbara Cairns, Mary Callahan, Karen Spears, Randy Palmer, Marilyn Cederberg, Shirley Clayton and Elaine Muldowney. It takes a lot of work to raise the funds for even one scholarship to help a graduating Cedaredge High School senior, and many local clubs and organizations work year round helping in the effort.

During the month of February, Turner dedicated 25 percent of her profits to the program. “I’m so impressed with this community and its businesses, that they see the importance of our child and teen program in Delta County, and they choose to support us,” Shirk said. Turner added she enjoyed supporting the program so much that she plans to do a similar fundraiser at her store in July.
