Altrusa International of Delta, which is dedicated to advancing literacy and community service, held its annual installation meeting May 23 at the home of Yvonne Rowland.

Outgoing directors included president Nancy Hovde, vice president Jo Rosenquist, treasurer Cindy Lonis, secretary Debbie Atchley, and correspondence secretary Melvia Thebus.

Hotchkiss Emblem Club #306 held its annual Americanism contest May 7. Third grade children from Hotchkiss and Crawford and their families were invited for ice cream and cake and to receive their awards.

Grand officers of Colorado and Utah were welcomed by the officers and members of Garnet Chapter #39, Delta.

Grand officers from the Grand Chapter of Colorado, Order of the Eastern Star, and their escorts, as well as Utah grand officers and their escorts, made an official visit to Garnet Chapter #39, Delta, and the Colorado/Utah Exchange on Saturday, May 5. Many OES chapters from across the state were represented.

VFW hosts event

The traditional Memorial Day pancake breakfast hosted by Lee Marts VFW Post #3571 and Ladies Auxiliary offered dozens of area residents one of the best meal values around, and helped raise funds for the post and auxiliary’s local programs.
