The Del-Rose Chorus helped start the centennial celebration at the Eckert Presbyterian Church on Sept. 14. Even though rain was falling, it did not dampen the spirits of those who came out to celebrate. The chorus warmed up the audience with “Java Jive” and “Orange Colored Sky,” marched Johnny home in the “Johnny Medley,” sang about “What a Wonderful World” and said goodbye with the “Irish Blessing.” Afterwards the ladies went to the kitchen and serenaded the staff who were unable to listen while preparing lunch. Chorus members were honored to sing for the event and it provided a nice change as the chorus prepares for its fall show. Mark your calendars for the show, Saturday, Nov. 2, at Delta Christian Church, 1600 and I Rd in North Delta.
