Anschutz Family Foundation supports Delta County kids

The Anschutz Family Foundation is providing financial support to Delta County children through the Families Plus wrap-around mentoring program. Families Plus has been granted $7,500 toward drawing in volunteers and resources aimed at helping children in challenging circumstance to develop self-sufficiency.

Cedaredge Rod and Gun holds its annual meeting

c02 gunclubPhoto by Hank Lohmeyer A hearty sit-down dinner of homestyle pot roast, friends, and a table full of desirable, quality raffle prizes made the annual meeting of the Cedaredge Rod and Gun Club a great evening for some 100 people who attended.The annual meeting of the Cedaredge Rod and Gun Club took place at the Stolte Shed on Jan. 19 with about 100 people attending.

The group meets each winter for its business meeting, to enjoy a catered meal of pot roast, prepared this year by Connie's Restaurant, and to share in the pleasant company and fellowship of like-minded sportsmen and sportswomen.

c02 libraryPhoto submitted Officers greet manager New officers for Friends of the Cedaredge Public Library welcomed Lea Hart, the new library manager, at their first meeting of the year. The Friends group donated $3,500 to the library for new acquisitions. The money that the Friends group raises at its spring and fall book sales provides new books, DVDs, and other material for the library. Throughout the year, the Friends support the library in various ways including the Summer Reading Program. If anyone is interested in joining this library support group, please contact Laurae Fortner-Welch at 856-2184.
