A new Rotarian

b03 rotaryPhoto by Kathy Browning A new Rotarian Michelle Lehman (center), owner of the Paonia Flower Shop, is the newest member of the Paonia Rotary Club. She was officially received into the service organization on Nov. 15 by club president Norman Lewark and Jackie Parks. Parks introduced Lehman by saying she had known Michelle since she was a small child and that she has grown up to be a wonderful woman. Lehman graduated from Hotchkiss High School. She has been in the floral business for 20 years.

Tribute to Dr. Seuss

This year, as a tribute to Dr. Seuss, the Altrusans extended their creativity to the decor at Bill Heddles Recreation Center, as illustrated by the three-dimensional elephant from Dr. Seuss’s “Horton Hears A Who.” Proceeds from this annual event benefit Altrusa’s community service projects, spotlighting literacy, food banks, schools, libraries and parks.

Seven members of the Delta FFA chapter attended the 85th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind.Seven members of the Delta FFA chapter traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana, for the 85th National FFA Convention. The attendees were Aspen Spiker, Cade Lugard, Hadassa Graham, Kelsie Hartman, Kasha Culver, Ciara Starr and Abbie Sitton, as well as chaperones Teresa Davis and FFA advisor Will Nelson.

A Delta High School JROTC member helps serve veterans breakfast at the Delta Elks Lodge. The Delta Elks sponsored a free breakfast for all veterans and their families on Veterans Day.

The post was contacted by manager Kirby Clock who said the old flag was beginning to show a lot of wear and tear.
