Misty Sakala, registered nurse and certified emergency nurse, was recently promoted to emergency department/trauma program manager. Sakala officially started her duties as manager on April 8.
Sakala most recently worked as the trauma nurse coordinator for DCMH. She has been a registered nurse for nine years with past experience in neuro-trauma, medical-surgical and emergency departments.
She is also responsible for the development of a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) program and Sexual Assault Response Teams (SART) at DCMH. The SART program has improved care for victims in our community, commented chief clinical officer Jody Roeber.
"Delta County Memorial Hospital is excited to have Misty join our management team," Roeber said. "She is devoted to this community, the emergency department and DCMH. Misty has demonstrated a level of excellence in her work as trauma coordinator and emergency/trauma nurse. She is enthusiastic and innovative at her approach to her new position. We look forward to her positive leadership within the emergency department. Misty's leadership will complement our strong medical and nursing staff in the emergency/trauma department."
"I am grateful for this new opportunity to serve as a manager of the emergency/trauma program. I am looking forward to reviewing all emergency department procedures and policies as Delta County Memorial Hospital is always seeking ways to improve the quality care provided to our patients," commented Sakala.blog comments powered by Disqus
