Photo submitted Serving close to home Max Moore, 12, Lori Goehl, 20, and McKenzie Moore, 15, spent part of their summer vacation painting the basement of the Delta United Methodist Church. These youth, and others from the Cedaredge United Methodist Church, painted the basement of the Delta church as part of their at-home mission trip this summer. Each fall and winter, the basement is the home of The Abraham Connection Homeless Shelter. College students from Colorado Mesa University’s on-campus ministry also came down to help. “We appreciate the help of these kids. They did an amazing job,” said Ray Smith, a member of the DUMC men’s group and a board member for the homeless shelter.
