Senior CommUnity meals are served in Olathe on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and at four dining sites in Delta County — Cedaredge Community Center (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), Delta Community Center (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), Hotchkiss Senior Center (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and Paonia Senior Citizen Center (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). Meals on Wheels are also delivered from each location.

Friday, Nov. 1 — Chicken tamale pie, western corn, black bean salad, Spanish rice and fall harvest muffin.
Monday, Nov. 4 — Meat loaf, parmesan garlic potatoes, broccoli, carrot and raisin salad, wheat roll and cherry crisp.
Wednesday, Nov. 6 — Roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and carrots, pickled beets, wheat roll and frosted cake.
Friday, Nov. 8 — Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, three-bean salad, green beans and banana cake.
Monday, Nov. 11 — Dijon chicken, baked potato, country spinach, V-8 juice and patriotic poke cake.
Wednesday, Nov. 13 — Beef stew, creamy cucumber salad, rye roll and citrus splash mousse cake.
Friday, Nov. 15 — Spaghetti with meat sauce, tossed salad, green beans, garlic breadstick, muffin and fruit cup.
Monday, Nov. 18 — Chili con carne with cheese and diced onion, waldorf salad, cabbage and carrots, cornbread and bread pudding.
Wednesday, Nov. 20 — Liver or beef patty with onions, mashed potatoes and gravy, three-bean salad, green beans, onion-rye roll and Emerald Isle dessert.
Friday, Nov. 22 — Scalloped turkey and potatoes, tossed salad, honey-glazed carrots, wheat roll and sunset yogurt dessert.
Monday, Nov. 25 — Breaded baked cod, fiesta veggie blend, fish house coleslaw, whole wheat muffin and cinnamon knot.
Wednesday, Nov. 27 — Roast turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, wheat roll and pumpkin pie with whipped cream.
Friday, Nov. 29 — Baked chicken breast, tossed salad, fettucine alfredo, California vegetable mix, garlic breadstick and honey fruit dessert.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the Delta meal site offers a lighter lunch for $2.50 for ages 55 and over, from 12-12:30 p.m. The menu includes a soup of the day, a sandwich, and also may include bread or biscuit, dessert and other side dishes when available.blog comments powered by Disqus
