Cameron VanVleet, Paonia sophomore, has been selected to represent Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) at this year's National Rural Electric Youth Tour.
This is a wonderful opportunity for Van-Vleet to learn about government and the electric cooperative program by spending a week in our nation's capital.
The tour begins on June 12 in Brighton and proceeds to Washington, D.C. There, VanVleet will visit national monuments, participate in governmental insight exercises and meet his state representative and/or senator. The tour concludes on June 19.
In March VanVleet will be contacted by the Colorado Rural Electric Association — Colorado Electric Educational Institute (CREA/CEEI) which will provide more information about the tour. DMEA will provide transportation to and from Brighton should VanVleet require it.
VanVleet has been invited to give a re-cap of his trip at the July 22 DMEA board meeting.blog comments powered by Disqus
