O’Brien recognized for outstanding leadership

Karen O'Brien, a health education coordinator with the Delta County Department of Health & Human Services, recently received the Excellence in Public Health Education Award from the Colorado Society for Public Health Education.

The award is presented each September at the Public Health in Colorado Conference, and is awarded to a practicing health educator who has portrayed outstanding leadership in the profession and field of public health.

Jaden Cowley awarded Boy Scouts’ highest honor

Jaden Cowley
Jaden Cowley, a senior at Delta High School, completed his Eagle Scout project and passed his board of review in July. He plans to be awarded the honor at a Troop 481 Eagle Scout court of honor later this fall.

The Delta Fine Arts and its member artists from around the region agreed to sponsor an AppleFest Poster fundraiser for the Cedaredge Area Chamber of Commerce this year.
