DHS grad has sights set on South Africa

a04 carricoCierra CarricoCierra Carrico, a 2010 graduate of Delta High School, has been selected to represent the United States by volunteering in South Africa next summer with International Student Volunteers (ISV), a volunteer and travel organization.

ISV is an internationally recognized organization that appoints university students from the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom to various countries around the world in an effort to impact entire communities and endangered habitats in need.

Barbara Silverman and Janice Phillips attended a White House holiday reception and issues briefing last week in Washington, D.C.The invitation came as the result of having worked as volunteers in the Obama re-election campaign in the Cedaredge, Orchard City and Delta areas. Both said that it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to hear the president and first lady and to see the White House in its holiday finery.

Hotchkiss native retires after 34-year Army career

Kalahar named DCMH manager of marketing and education
