GreerMahala Greer, originally from Paonia, has joined 220 other individuals from across the United States in Vinton, Iowa where they are devoting the next 10 months to giving back to communities in the North Central Region of the United States.

Greer has been serving with the National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), an AmeriCorps program, since Feb. 5, 2013.

Jackson Kayak announces the appointment of Paonian Butler Cox as its ambassador for Boomer and Senior Programs. In addition to presenting programs for Jackson directed to older paddlers, Cox is spearheading an information clearinghouse on the Internet where older, beginning kayakers can learn about the sport in one location, rather than having to search all over the web.
