Air Force Airman Gregory A. Weatherington graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Hollembeak is new member of Angus Association

Clay Hollembeak, Hotchkiss, is a new junior member of the American Angus Association®, reports Bryce Schumann, CEO of the national organization with headquarters in Saint Joseph, Mo.

Junior members of the association are eligible to register cattle in the American Angus Association, participate in programs conducted by the National Junior Angus Association and take part in association-sponsored shows and other national and regional events.

Honored for service

Lund noted that a lot of things have changed since his first day as a commissioner in 2005 when he was the only person in county government using a laptop computer.

Medical mission inspires local care providers

The trip was arranged through Global Health Outreach, a ministry affiliated with the Christian Medical and Dental Associations, of which Dr. Huene is a member.

Gilberts publish his-and-her memoirs

a05 gilbertsIn March 2012, Peg Gilbert published her memoirs in a book titled "The Good Lord Rides Drag." Now her husband Harry has followed suit with "Sing Me to Sleep." Both books were written with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in mind, but old friends report the lives of both Peg and Harry make great reading. Harry credits his colorful and influential ancestors, the Gilberts and the Coffeys, and includes a chapter on both.
