Sandy Myers of Olathe and Randy Watkins of Fruita announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Watkins, to Lane Varner. The groom is the son of Dan and Holly Varner of Delta.

The bride-to-be graduated from Colorado Mesa University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in biology with an emphasis in secondary education. She is a science teacher at Delta Middle School.

Her fiancé is a student at Colorado Christian University pursuing a bachelor's degree in elementary education with an endorsement in social studies. He is an auctioneer, farmer and rancher. He coaches football and basketball at Delta High School.

Jessica and Lane will be married this summer. They plan to make their home in Delta.
