Mai Duran

Mai P. Duran of Delta died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at her home. She was 64.

a08_duranVisitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Delta. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, Jan. 5, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Delta City Cemetery.

Mrs. Duran was born Oct. 20, 1947, in Bien Hoa, South Vietnam. She spent her childhood and attended schools in Bien Hoa. She moved to the United States in 1992.

She married Atanasio "Tanner" Duran on Dec. 7, 2002, in Delta. They celebrated nine years of marriage. He survives.

Mrs. Duran was a business owner. She enjoyed cooking, gambling, traveling and taking pictures. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She donated time and finances to several organizations and charities.

She is survived by her husband, Atanasio "Tanner" Duran of Delta; three sons, Luu Nguyen of Delta, Linh Nguyen of Vietnam, and Han Pham of Ohio; four daughters, Bitt Nguyen and Trang Nguyen, both of Delta, Phuong Hang of Denver, and Ly Nicol of Boston, Mass.; a sister, Tuyet Welch of Aurora; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Duran was preceded in death by her parents.
