Carrol P. Brown

Carrol Preston Brown of Chino Valley, Ariz., died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011. He was 87.

a08_brownMr. Brown was born Feb. 2, 1925, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Judson and Ora Brown. He attended Prescott Senior High School.

He married Mary Dornwell on April 6, 1944, in Phoenix, Ariz. They moved to Delta in 1976 and returned to Arizona in 1985. He married Dorothy Brown on Nov. 17, 2006. She survives.

Mr. Brown owned Carrol Brown Construction Company in Prescott, Ariz. He served as church council member at Foursquare Gospel Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Brown of Chino Valley, Ariz.; a daughter, Nancy Terry of Delta; his grandchildren, DeAnna Love and her husband Ryan, Ty Terry and his wife Bobbie, Karin Marchun and her husband Brian, and Benjamin Brown and his wife Linda; 11 great-grandchildren, Justin and Tanya Marchun, Amanda Love, Samantha Brown, Meghan Brown, Sterling Brown, Zack Love, Ashlee Love, Lacey Love, Kylee Terry and Kierra Terry, all living in the Cedaredge, Delta and Durango areas.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his brother, Charles "J.D."; four sisters, Jettie, Oneta, Luie Dell and Mildred; a grandson, Sterling Brown; and a son and his wife, Karey and Mary.

At his request, his remains will be returned to Colorado and a private family service will be held.
