Jack Peebler of Surface Creek died Sept. 19, 2012, at Horizons Care Center in Eckert. He was 82.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Cedaredge.
Mr. Peebler was born April 28, 1930, to Les and Delena (Lovato) Peebler in Cedaredge. He grew up and went to school in Cedaredge.
While living in Denver he met and married Ada Ann Valentine. They eventually moved back to the Surface Creek area where they lived for the rest of their lives. Ada died Sept. 14, 2007.
Mr. Peebler worked as a mechanic and enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Peebler and his wife Julie of Delta; his daughter and her husband, Dana and Jody Sparks of Hotchkiss; a brother, Bill Peebler and his wife Keitha of Cedaredge; two sisters, Pauline Eddleman and her husband Herman of Read, and Maxine Peebler of Cedaredge; five grandchildren, Jerod Sparks, Michael Myer, Chad Sparks, Cheyann Peebler and Laramie Peebler; and two great-grandchildren, Brooke Sparks and Jacob Sparks.
Arrangements are being handled by Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
