Jerry Adams

a08_adamsJerry Allen Adams died at his home in Apache Junction, Ariz., Sept. 2, 2012. He was 71.

Memorial services and reception will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Delta First Assembly of God with Rev. Lee Ponder officiating. The family will be wearing red instead of black to honor Mr. Adams' favorite color.

Mr. Adams was born on April 12, 1941, in Delta to Wilbur and Erma Adams. He spent his childhood and received his education in Delta, graduating from Delta High School in 1959. He attended Western State College and Mesa State College.

He married Wilma Dale in 1962; they had one son, Mike. The marriage ended by divorce in 1966.

From 1965 to 1968 Mr. Adams served in the U.S. military in Germany and was honorably discharged from Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, Calif.

He married Judy Gallup in 1975. They were married 37 years. They had one daughter and four sons.

Mr. Allen enjoyed finding bargains at yard sales and swap meets, woodcarving, carpentry, fly fishing and studying the Bible.

He is survived by his wife Judy of Apache Junction, Ariz.; a daughter, Kerin Jackson and her husband Jeremy of Apache Junction, Ariz.; five sons, Michael Adams of Fruita, Bryndan Adams of Grand Junction, Terrynce Adams and his wife Ginger of Apache Junction, Ariz., Jordan Adams and his wife Sara of Grand Junction, Nathan Adams of Apache Junction, Ariz.; a sister, Nanette Adams of Olathe; seven grandchildren, Zoey, Seth and Izak Jackson of Apache Junction, Ariz., Erick and Elliana Adams of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Elisha Adams and Titus Adams of Grand Junction. Evangeline Adams is due to be born in February in Apache Junction, Ariz.
