Grant Arterburn

a08 arterburnPaonia resident Grant Arterburn died Nov. 16, 2012, at Delta County Memorial Hospital. He was 38.

A funeral service was held Nov. 20 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Paonia. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Paonia.

Grant Wayne Arter-burn was born to Robert and Kim (Farnsworth) Arterburn on Sept. 17, 1974, in Denver. He spent his childhood and attended schools in Leadville, graduating from Leadville High School in 1993.

On Sept. 7, 1996, he married Debra "Debi" Gierhart in Paonia. They celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary this year.

Mr. Arterburn was the owner and operator of Grant's Auto Repair in Paonia. He enjoyed spending time with his children, camping, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Debi of Paonia; four children, Laura, Jacob, Lane and Walker Arterburn, all of Paonia; his father and step-mother, Bob and Ginger Arterburn of Grand Junction; two sisters, Wendy Peterson and spouse Brian of Paonia and Melissa Ridpath and spouse Justin of Grand Junction; four step-brothers, Tim Rodabaugh and spouse Kim of Loma, Mike Rodabaugh and spouse Stacy of Denver, Chauncey Phebus and spouse Andrea of Gypsum and Cedric Phebus and spouse Amber of Denver; one step-sister, Vicki Lathrop and spouse Gary of Clifton; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kim Arterburn.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grant Arterburn Memorial Fund at the Paonia North Fork Bank, set up to support his four children.

Arrangements were handled by Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
