Harold Davis November 21, 2012

Delta County resident Harold Dean Davis died Nov. 10, 2012, at Delta County Memorial Hospital. He was 79.

A funeral service was held Friday, Nov. 16, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta with Pastor Ethan Hansen presiding. Burial followed at Delta City Cemetery.

Mr. Davis was born to James and Ora Mae (Weatherman) Davis on Sept. 15, 1933, in Maryville, Mo. He spent his childhood and attended schools in St. Joseph, Mo.
On Oct. 18, 1952, he married Norma Jean Harris in St. Joseph, Mo. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Norma Jean survives.

Mr. Davis drove a bus for RTD in Denver for many years. He worked in a grocery store in Alaska and in the sand, gravel and concrete industry for many years. He lived in St. Joseph, Mo., Denver, Oklahoma, Alaska and Delta.


He enjoyed traveling, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Savannah Baptist Church and VFW, both in St. Joseph, Mo.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Norma Jean of Delta; one sister, Velma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by seven sisters, Dorothy, Viola, Edna, Blanche, Bessie, Ethel and Loretta.

Arrangements were handled by Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
