Gilberta Lane

a08 laneGilberta M. Lane died Nov. 27, 2012, at her home in Delta. She was 78.

A funeral service was held Dec. 1 at the First Baptist Church in Delta with Rev. James Conley officiating. Interment was at Delta City Cemetery.

Gilberta Maxine Johnson was born to Harold and Mable (Adams) Johnson April 19, 1934, in Arnett, Okla. She spent her childhood and attended schools in Delta, graduating from Delta High School in 1952.

She married Tommie Lee Lane on May 7, 1961, in Delta. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2011.

Mrs. Lane was a member of the First Baptist Church in Delta. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, canning and preserving, crocheting, gardening and watching the Rockies and the Broncos.

She is survived by her husband, Tommie Lane of Delta; two sons, Gregory Lane and spouse Patty of Delta, and Brent Lane of Kittredge; a daughter, Melissa Floyd and spouse Scott of Delta; a brother, Kenneth Johnson and spouse Barbara of Grand Junction; two sisters-in-law, Lyndall Johnson and Leona Lane both of Delta; a brother-in-law, Ken Lane and spouse Evelyn of Montrose; six grandchildren, Troye, Jordan, Miranda, Megan, Chason and Shauntell; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Pfifer; and a brother, Wendell Johnson.
