Elsie Ahlberg died Nov. 30, 2012, at Colorow Care Center in Olathe. She was 104.
Funeral services were held Dec. 4 at the First Assembly of God in Delta with Pastor Lee Ponder and Gene Roland presiding. Burial followed at Delta City Cemetery.
Elsie Marie Dougherty was born Oct. 23, 1908, to Harry and Lucinda (Purvis) Dougherty in Berryman, Mo. She spent her childhood and went to school in Missouri and in Colorado.
On Jan. 26, 1926, she married Severt Ahlberg in St. Louis, Mo. They moved to Delta in 1946. The couple celebrated 61 years of marriage before Severt died on April 17, 1983.
Mrs. Ahlberg enjoyed her family and friends, flowers and working on her yard. She served as a member of the PTA at her children's schools.
She is survived by two sons, Vic Ahlberg and spouse Margie of Delta and Severt Ahlberg and spouse Loeda of Jonesboro, Ark.; three daughters, Helen Ayers of Olathe, Betty Call of Delta, Vesta Roland and spouse Gene of Morenci, Ariz; 101 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great - great - grandchildren, in addition to three on the way.
Arrangements were handled by Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
