Leland William Bailey Jr. died Dec. 4, 2012, in Delta. He was 66.
A graveside memorial service was held Dec. 7 at the Delta City Cemetery.
Mr. Bailey was born to Leland and Katherine (Hughes) Bailey on June 6, 1946, in Sturgis, S.D. He spent his childhood and attended schools in South Dakota and Colorado. After high school he completed various college courses and served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Special Forces.
In 1964 he married Sarah Chavez. They had two sons, Jerry and Leland. The marriage ended in divorce.
He married Joan Hopman. They had a son, William. The marriage ended in divorce.
In 2000 he married Joy Elliott. The couple celebrated 12 years of marriage.
Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife, Joy Bailey of Delta; three sons, Jerry Bailey, Leland J. Bailey and William Bailey; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother; and three sisters.
Arrangements were handled by Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
