Jack Cairns

a10 cairnsJack Lavoy Cairns of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Dec. 8, 2012, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls. He was 82.

Mr. Cairns was born June 30, 1930, in Rawlins, Wyo., to Logan and Emma (Kennaday) Cairns. He grew up and attended school in Raw-lins, graduating from Rawlins High School. He lived in North Platte, Neb., and Cedaredge before moving to Idaho Falls.

He married Beverly Johnson on Oct. 1, 1949, in Rawlins, Wyo. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temple in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Mr. Cairns co-owned Build Rite Lumber and Supply. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and carpentry.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beverly; his daughters, Linda Page and husband Ron of Delta, Utah, Kay Hansen and husband Alan of Rigby, Idaho, Becky Cooper and husband John of Boise, Idaho; his sons, Jack Cairns Jr. and wife Becky of Ogden, Utah, Bill Cairns and wife Kae of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his sisters, Margaret Wilson and husband Norman of Rawlins, Wyo., and Judy Schmeling and husband Craig of Laughlin, Nev.; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Chris Campbell.
Funeral services will be held Dec 13 at 1 p.m., at the Rawlins LDS Church. Burial will be at the Rawlins Cemetery.
