Carolyn Gardner Lane died Dec. 8, 2012, at Willow Tree Care Center in Delta. She was 75.
She was born Jan. 11, 1937, in Richfield, Utah, to Tell and AraBella (Atkin) Gardner. She attended schools in Richfield, Utah, graduating from Richfield High School. She graduated from Stevens-Henager Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She married Bill Lane. They lived in several locations before settling in the Salt Lake valley. They later divorced.
She worked for, and retired from, the Utah State Board of Education. She enjoyed her family, crocheting, collecting and displaying teddy bears and antiques, country music, doing the jitterbug, telling jokes, and a good cup of coffee.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lori Tryon and husband Craig of Riverton, Utah, and Melanie Bates and husband Michael of Cedaredge; four grandchildren, Michael Tryon of Riverton, Utah, Stephen Tryon and wife Joan of Herriman, Utah, Meghan Pope and husband Ryan of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Arabella Bates of Cedaredge; one great-granddaughter, Aubree Tryon of Riverton, Utah; a brother, William Gardner of Richfield, Utah; a sister, Jillene Nielson and husband Steven of Richfield, Utah; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, from 1 to 2 p.m., at Magleby Mortuary in Richfield, Utah, followed by a graveside dedication at the Richfield City Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory in Delta and Magleby Mortuary in Richfield, Utah.
