William D. Hammett died Jan. 6, 2013, at his home in Cedaredge. He was 71.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Cedaredge.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at St. Philips Catholic Church in Cedaredge, with Rev. Mark Bettinger officiating. Interment will follow at Cedaredge Cemetery.
William David Hammett was born Nov. 28, 1941, in Seattle, Wash., to Francis and Mary (Honeywell) Hammett.
He served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed music and reading.
Mr. Hammett is survived by his three brothers, Francis "Bud" Hammett of Montrose, Forest "Eddie" Hammett and his wife Cheryl of Cedaredge, and Joe Hammett; two sisters, Mary Ann Peterson and her husband Buckley of Cedaredge, and Sue Hainer and her husband Curtis of Grand Junction.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Pappas and Barbara Penick.
Arrangements are being handled by Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
