a10 wilsonElra Lay Wilson died Jan. 18, 2013, at his home in Delta.

A viewing will be Thursday, Jan. 24, from 5-7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta.

There will also be a viewing at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Delta from 10-10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Delta City Cemetery.

Mr. Wilson served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor.

On March 30, 1944, he married LaVona Tanner. They were later sealed on April 27, 1964, at the temple in Mesa, Ariz.

He is survived by his wife, LaVona Wilson of Delta; three children, Vicki Moore of Delta, Tana Zortman and Gregory Wilson, both of Grand Junction; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren and counting.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and a son-in-law, Jack Zortman.

Arrangements are being handled by Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
