Christopher Sorensen

a08 sorensonDelta resident Christopher David Sorensen died March 2, 2013, as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was 60.

He was born in Denver Sept. 19, 1952, and graduated from Paonia High School in 1970. He served a short term in the U.S. Army from which he was honorably discharged.

Mr. Sorensen worked as a coal miner and was a carpenter for most of his life.

He was a longtime member of the High Plains Drifters motorcycle club and enjoyed riding his customized 1994 Harley Davidson Road King.

He enjoyed reading western novels and being outdoors fishing and camping.

Mr. Sorensen is survived by his girlfriend, Carol Ann Boyer and her daughter Jesse Smith, both of Montrose; his sister, Diana Dennison of Woodard, Okla.; his brothers, Clay Sorensen of Paonia, James Sorensen of Crawford, and Robert Sullivan of Delta; his stepmother, Willa Sorensen of Austin; his stepmother, Ruth Sorensen of Arvada; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Sorensen; and his mother, Donna (Shrader) Sullivan.

Arrangements were handled by Sunset Mesa Funeral Directors.
