Hazel Weber

a08 weberDelta County resident Hazel Weber died March 9, 2013, at Mesa Manor Assisted Living Center in Grand Junction. She was 93.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 16, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta with Pastor James Conley officiating.

Hazel Cathryn Lehigh was born in Beatrice, Neb., Feb. 29, 1920, to Donald and Clara (Closson) Lehigh. She spent her childhood and attended schools in Colorado.


She married Donald Reed May 1, 1936. He died in 1984.

Mrs. Weber, a retired cook, enjoyed her family, sewing, crocheting and crafts of all kinds.

She is survived by four sons, Robert Reed and wife Carolyn of Austin, Nathan Reed and wife Betty of Cedaredge, Don Reed and wife Kathy of Austin, and Calvin Reed and wife Anne of Grand Junction; one daughter, Bernice Van Matre of Grand Junction; many grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Reed Pappas; her son-in-law, Nick Van Matre; her grandson and wife, Dean and Shelly Davis; and her sister, Mabel Armour.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 1250 Pioneer Road, Delta, CO 81416.

Arrangements are being handled by Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
