Brenda "Bren" Mastrullo died March 12, 2013. She was 55.
Visitation for family and friends will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 22, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Paonia, with a Mass of Christian burial at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Paonia. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Paonia.
Brenda E. Hogan was born April 16, 1957, in Salem, Mass., to L.T. and Dorothy Hogan. She spent the majority of her life in Marblehead, Mass.
She graduated from Marblehead High School in 1975 and from Cazenovia College in New York with a degree in equine studies in 1977.
An avid horsewoman, she worked at Flying Horse Farms in Hamilton, Mass., in the late 1980s as well as at Hamilton Farms in later years. For many years she lived in the Jackson, North Conway area of New Hampshire. She lived in Colorado the past few years.
She enjoyed the sea, her family, friends, horses, especially her favorite ride Night Hawk, and her dog Cammie.
Mrs. Mastrullo is survived by her husband, Frank Mastrullo of Paonia; her son, Stash Durkee and wife Erin; her grandchildren, Keaghan and Lilly Durkee of Colorado; her mother, Dorothy Hogan of Marblehead, Mass.; her sisters, Cyndy Hutchinson, her husband Dana and their three children, Sarah, Becky and Tim, all of Salem, Mass., and Susan Hogan and her children, Patrick, Sean and Cameron Sylvester, all of Marblehead, Mass.; her ex-husband, Gordon Durkee and wife Mary Beth of Colorado; her ex-brother-in-law, Joe Sylvester of Marblehead, Mass.; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, L.T. Hogan.
Arrangements are being handled by Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
