Clifford C. O'Hern Jr. died March 16, 2013, at his home in Cedaredge. He was 77.

Mr. O'Hern was born in Santa Monica, Calif., Sept. 18, 1935, to Clifford and Lena (Vincent) O'Hern. He spent his childhood in Garden Grove, Calif., graduating from Garden Grove High School. He graduated from Orange Coast College before enlisting in the Navy where he was in the underwater demolition team/Navy Seals.
On Sept. 2, 1961, he married Patricia Bostelman in Anaheim, Calif. The couple lived in Escondido, Calif., before moving to Cedaredge in 1978. They celebrated 43 years of marriage before Pat died Feb. 2, 2005.
Mr. O'Hern was a retired fireman. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, diving, surfing, fishing, hunting and trap shooting. He was the 1983 Colorado State Elk Calling champion. He was a member of the Cedaredge Rod & Gun Club and a lifetime member of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Southern California Fireman's Association.
He is survived by his mother, Lena O'Hern of Riverside, Calif.; a son, Brian O'Hern and wife Anna of Cedaredge; a daughter, Stacy Dunkle and Bradley of Denver; a brother, Dennis O'Hern and wife Marica of Newport Beach, Calif., a sister, Patty McGuire and husband Michael of Riverside, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
