Adella Yersenia Montoya, a resident of Hotchkiss for 39 years, died March 30, 2013, at Delta County Memorial Hospital. She was 76.
Mrs. Montoya was born in Conejos to Pedro and Isabell (War) Padilla on April 12, 1936. She spent her childhood in Espanola, N.M.
She married Salomon Montoya on Jan. 24, 1953, in Espanola, N.M.
Mrs. Montoya was an active parishioner of the North Fork Catholic Community.
She is survived by her husband, Salomon Montoya of Hotchkiss; four sons, Charles Montoya of Delta, Andy Montoya of Hotchkiss, Gilbert Montoya of Gilbert, Ariz., and Dennis Montoya of Maricopa, Ariz.; three daughters, Barbara Murphy of Montrose, Theresa Snider of Paonia and Phyllis Pene of Hotchkiss; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald Montoya and Jesse Montoya.
A funeral Mass was celebrated by Father Chrysogonus Nwele at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Delta on Friday, April 5, and interment followed at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Grand Junction.
