Larry Robert George, oft-absent but always loving father of three beautful children (Kimberly Ann George-Schauer, Karla Lee Burrell and Kyle Robert George), died in his sleep in the early morning on Tuesday, April 16, 2013.
Larry was born July 27, 1940, in Maywood, Calif., to Robert Morgan George and Gladys Foster George.
Larry learned the construction trade as a young man, and honed his skills to become a master finish carpenter. His woodworking craftsmanship was in great demand wherever he strapped on his tool belt. A great day for Larry was completing a project and having a couple of beers with friends afterward.
Larry believed in living in beauty; he was pleased to call Lake Arrowhead, Lake Tahoe, Cambria, Calif., Crawford and, finally, Virginia City, Nev., "home' during his lifetime. He was wryly funny and engaging. He could take your money at the pool table and you would still call him friend. He had many friends. Wherever he roamed, he seemed to know everyone and everyone knew and admired Larry.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Karla; his son, Kyle; and his three grandchildren, Kody Cameron Burrell, Dustin Thomas Burell, both of Virginia City, Nev., and Michael Mac Schauer of Ohio. His big sister, Dianne Carter, and little brother, Bill George, will cherish their memories of their "vagabond" brother.
He will be missed by friends and family alike. Our hope for Larry is that there is woodworking to be done in heaven and time for a couple of beers with friends afterward.
