Former Paonia resident Bonnie B. Potter died May 6, 2013, at Bonell Good Samaritan in Greeley. She was 90.
She was born in Imperial, Neb., July 22, 1922, to Herman and Elva (Johnston) Dettman. She grew up in Imperial, graduating from Chase County High School. She attended secretarial school in Omaha, Neb., and worked as an executive secretary for a major construction company in Denver for many years. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy WAVES in 1945 but peace was declared and she did not enter active service.
She married Richard Jarrett on Dec. 15, 1949, in Geneva, Neb. They later divorced. She married George Potter in 2003.
Mrs. Potter enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motor home, spending time with her family and entertaining family and friends.
After her retirement in Denver, she and her first husband, Dick Jarrett, moved back to Imperial to raise and show mules.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Kevin Spradlin and wife Marcia, Sue Sorenson, Craig Spradlin and wife Monica; eight great-nephews; and four great-great-nieces and nephews.blog comments powered by Disqus
