Robert L. Tafoya died April 18, 2013, at his home in Independence, Kan. He was 68.
Mr. Tafoya was born in Hotchkiss Dec. 11, 1944, to Alfonso Tafoya and Hijinia Ortega. He attended Hotchkiss schools and graduated from Hotchkiss High School.
He attended college in Warner, Okla. He joined the U.S. Army and served from 1963 to 1965. He worked in law enforcement in Colorado and Oklahoma and was a purchasing agent at Heartland Cement from 1986 to 2008.
Mr. Tafoya enjoyed golf, spending time with his grandchildren and watching college basketball.
He is survived by his wife, Middy; daughters, Julie Ketchum and husband Brad of Broken Arrow, Okla., Casey Adolph and husband Jeff of Independence, Kan., and Karen Martin and husband John of Colorado; son, Brad and wife Justin of Colorado; four sisters, Ida Aragon, Julia Leon, Frances Massey, and Rose Mattern; two brothers, Jim and Ed Tafoya; and two grandchildren, Fiona Jordan and Tyson Ketchum.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Alfonso Tafoya Jr.; and a sister, Barbara Tafoya.
