Joseph James Dombroski died June 8, 2013, at his home in Delta. He was 87.
A rosary will be recited by the Kinghts of Columbus at 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, at St. Michael's Catholic Church.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 13, at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Canice Enyiaka presiding. Inurnment will follow at Mesa View Cemetery with military honors presented by Lee Marts VFW Post 3571.
Mr. Dombroski was born in Utica, Mich., Oct. 23, 1925, to Michael and Jessie (Michaelowski) Dombroski. He spent his childhood and attended schools in Romeo, Mich.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army.
On Dec. 2, 1988, he married Sandra Bolle in Big Bear, Calif. They lived in California until moving to Delta in 1992. They celebrated 24 years of marriage last year. Sandy survives.
Mr. Dombroski was a retired school district superintendent. He enjoyed helping others in need, gardening, collecting various items and tinkering with watches. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Delta.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy of Delta; one stepson, Patrick Page and wife Ruth of California; one brother, Henry Dombroski and wife Rose Mary of Arizona; one sister, Ann Hayman of Georgia; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Emma Page.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
