Parachute resident Laurence A. Blunkall died July 3, 2013, at Paonia Care Center. He was 71.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Blunkall was born in Corning, Calif., May 31, 1942, to Lawrence and Cleo (O'Rear) Blunkall.
He grew up and went to school in Chico, Calif. He had just recently moved to Paonia from Parachute.
He worked in the concrete business, mined for gold, and worked in the oil, gas and coal industries as a trucking manager.
Mr. Blunkall enjoyed woodworking, gardening, making furniture, restoring classic cars and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his sons, Don Rogers and wife Pam of Colorado Springs, and David Rogers and wife Jeannie of Tulia, Texas; his daughters, Chaunte Morgan and Nicky Blunkall, both of Chico, Calif., Shari Montgomery of Colorado Springs, Julie Rose and husband Clint of Paonia, Laura Galera and husband Joe of Denver; his grandchildren, Samuel and Jake Rogers, David Jr. and Alisha Rogers, Josh Morgan Guy, Kelsey Aguire, Darcie, Louis, James and Olivia Rose, and Sofia Galera; and three great-grandchildren.
He ws preceded in death by a son, Jason Blunkall; and three grandchildren, Molly, Henry and Phoebe Rose.
Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory handled the arrangements.
