Longtime Crawford resident Mildred "Sunny" Miller died July 27, 2013, at Willow Tree Care Center. She was 94.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 2, at Taylor Funeral Service chapel in Hotchkiss. Services will conclude at the chapel.
Mildred Mae Durfee was born in Roxie Cow Camp, Corona, N.M., Oct. 11, 1918, to Fred and Annie (Berry) Durfee. She moved with her family to Crawford at the age of 9.
On Feb. 27, 1936, she married Bert Miller in Delta. They lived on a ranch near Crawford that had been homesteaded by Bert's grandfather in 1900. They were married 56 years.
Mrs. Miller was a charter member of the local Cowbelles, later renamed Colorado Cattlewomen, Inc., and Emblem Club. She enjoyed her family, ranch life and gardening.
She is survived by a daughter, Gennevieve de Aragon and husband Bob of Hotchkiss; sons, Homer Miller and wife Doris of Loma, and Richard Miller and wife Artis of Cedaredge; one sister, Ione Jenkins; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Durfee and Ermine Durfee; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert; a daughter, Beth Miller; four brothers, John, Guy, Fred and Robert Durfee; and four sisters, Ann Zanni, Alice Kurpis, Velma Cooper and Ina Lee Owens.
