Ben Wayne Lillard died at his home in Montrose on June 2, 2013. He was 56.
He was born April 29, 1957, to Aubrey and Ardella Lillard in Montrose. He attended elementary school in Telluride before moving to Cedaredge. He graduated from Cedaredge High School in 1976.
Mr. Lillard enjoyed being a father, grandpa, brother, brother-in-law and uncle, making friends, helping people, big game hunting, fishing and rock hunting.
He worked as an electrician, a deputy sheriff for Montrose and El Paso counties, a Houston metro police officer, a Montrose County jailer, a Norwood town marshal, an EMT, an ambulance driver and a coal miner.
He is survived by his son, Ben Lillard Jr. of Cedaredge; two grandchildren, Mikaila and Wyatt; a sister, Sharon Albin and husband Jerry; a brother, Gene Lillard and wife Deb; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sheila Radebaugh.
Memorial services were held July 26 at Calvary Chapel with Pastor Ben Garate officiating.
