Charley Maxel Peacock died July 25, 2013, at his home in Delta. He was 77.
A memorial service was held July 29 at First Assembly of God in Delta with Pastor Veronica Smith presiding. Inurnment was at Mesa View Cemetery.
Mr. Peacock was born in Fruita Aug. 31, 1935, to George and Marie (Wilson) Peacock. He spent his early childhood in Fruita and later moved with his family to Lamar. He graduated from Cañon City High School in 1954.
He served with the National Guard.
On July 9, 1961, he married Marlene Ritchie in Cañon City. She preceded him in death.
On June 5, 2004, he married Billie Robertson in Hotchkiss. They celebrated nine years of marriage this year.
Mr. Peacock was a retired farmer and miner. He enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, John Deere tractors, goats, fishing, camping, and going to Delta Sales Yard.
He was a member of First Assembly of God in Delta. He lived in Delta County since 1966.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Peacock of Delta; two sons, Gary Peacock and wife Lonie of Olathe, and Chuck Peacock and wife Beth of Grand Junction; two daughters, Donna Peacock, and Judy Cross and husband Rick, all of Delta; one stepson, Stanley Arnett of Delta; two stepdaughters, Christina Griffith of Delta, and Jeannettie Hott and husband Brian of Queensland, Australia; one brother, Ken Peacock of Evans; two sisters, Loretta Dahl and Sunny Brady, both of Byers; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marlene Peacock; and two brothers, Larry and Jim Peacock.
