Former Delta resident Doris Rutledge died Sept. 27, 2013, at Mesa View Retirement in Grand Junction. She was 91.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fruita. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Mesa View Cemetery in Delta.
Doris Hebert was born in Putnam, Conn., Aug. 27, 1922, to Joseph and Lydia (Chaput) Hebert.
She married Henry Rutledge Dec. 31, 1945, in North Grosvenordale, Conn. They celebrated nearly 60 years of marriage before Henry died in 2003.
Mrs. Rutledge enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother, crafts of all kinds and tending her flower gardens. She was a 4-H leader and Boy Scout den mother.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fruita.
Mrs. Rutledge is survived by three daughters, Lorraine Macchione and Kathleen Swern, both of Phoenix, Ariz., and Angeline Roles and husband Greg of Fruita; two sons, John Rutledge and Edward Rutledge and wife Kathy, all of Phoenix, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren, Jason Macchione, Kris Ross and wife Alma, Travis Ross, Amber Orabuena and husband Richard, Chad Rutledge and wife Lori, Shannon Stearman and husband Sean, Troy Rutledge, Andrea Rutledge, Alisha Howard and husband Tom, Kaleene Toback and husband Jeff, and Justin Roles; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Rutledge; and a brother, Edward Hebert.
