Longtime Delta resident Norma Thompson died Oct. 7, 2013, at Delta County Memorial Hospital. She was 81.
Funeral services were held Oct. 10 at First Baptist Church in Delta with Pastor James Conley officiating. Interment followed at Mesa View Cemetery in Delta.
Norma Jean Tabor was born in Elkhart, Kan., April 30, 1932, to Curtis and Ruby (Lett) Tabor. She spent her childhood and attended school in Delta and Montrose.
She was a mother and a CNA.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Delta. She enjoyed music, playing guitar, yard work and crocheting.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by two sons, Ronnie Brown and wife Teri, and James Thompson Jr., all of Delta; three daughters, Linda Nation and husband Carl, and Barbara Myers and husband Phil, all of Grand Junction, and Brenda Brown and husband Tom Gordon of Delta; four brothers, Hubert Tabor of Delta, Larry Tabor and wife Tammy of Naturita, Leon Tabor and wife Carol of Grand Junction and Jimmy Tabor and wife Shirley of Cedaredge; two sisters, Lois Cribari and husband Al of Montrose and Mae Riegel and husband Darrell of Eckert; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Brown; six brothers; two sisters; and a grandson, Chan Proctor.
Taylor Funeral Home and Crematory handled the arrangements.
