Lifetime Hotchkiss resident Zelda Hill died after a short illness Nov. 11, 2013, at Willow Tree Care Center in Delta. She was 89.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Hotchkiss. Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Hotchkiss.
Zelda Marie Gregory was born in Hotchkiss July 22, 1924, to Arthur and Myrtle (Thornberry) Gregory. She grew up in Hotchkiss, graduating from Hotchkiss High School.
She married Howard "Stanley" Hill July 18, 1943, in Hotchkiss. They enjoyed 69 years of marriage.
Mrs. Hill worked in the fruit harvest.
She enjoyed her family, crocheting and bowling. She bowled on the Wednesday Morning Bowling League. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Hotchkiss, Cottonwood Club and Crawford Mesa Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Anna Jean (Gabby) George of Hotchkiss and Charlotte (J.D.) Bradford of Grand Junction; four granddaughters and their spouses; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-grandson-in-law; one great-granddaughter-in-law; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a granddaughter, Debbie.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory handled the arrangements.
