Austin resident Michael R. Williams died Nov. 16, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. He was 58.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at First Baptist Church in Delta with Pastor Randy Unruh and Pastor James Conley officiating.
Mr. Williams was born in Bakersfield, Calif., April 10, 1955, to Billy and Gwendolyne (Helton) Williams. He spent his childhood in Bakersfield and graduated from North High School in 1974. He attended Bakersfield Community College.
He married Robin Sitton Oct. 13, 2001. He had lived in Delta since 1993. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Williams enjoyed the outdoors, riding his Harley, camping, hunting, four-wheeling, working in his yard and fixing things.
He was a member of the Jaycees, 4-H and Thunder Mountain Wheelers. He was a softball coach in the Surface Creek area.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Dakota (Jennifer) Morton of Killeen, Texas; three daughters, Jeanene Williams of Austin, Tricia Morton of Grand Junction and Kristi Schilly of Bakersfield, Calif.; three sisters, Sherry (Marty) Arnold of Oildale, Calif., Tammie (Sheila) Bridwell of Borger, Texas, and Deedee (Dale) Rikala of Lewiston, Mont.; two grandchildren, Ayden and Weston; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors, 4-H, or to the Michael Williams Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank Center.
